Exchange of letters Members European Parliament - VP Reding

The request was successful.

Dear Secretariat General (SG),

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

During the European Parliament Petition Committee of June 2011, MEP Bostinaru referred to a letter sent by 3 MEPs to VP Reding. According to MEP Bostinaru, VP Reding responded in a weak and very vague manner.

The statement can be verified here, at 18:25
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ex8NAdpLSrs

I would like to have access to the letter from the MEPs, as well as the reply of VP Reding.

Yours faithfully,

Arun Dohle

Dear Mr Dohle,
Subject:     Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No
2013/3852
We refer to your e-mail dated 22/07/2013 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 22/7/2013 under the above mentioned
reference number.
Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expired on 12/08/2013.
An extended time limit is needed as your application in order to retrieve
the documents requested from a large file.
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 03/09/2013.
We apologist for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Secretariat General (SG),

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of DG JUST's handling of my FOI request 'Exchange of letters Members European Parliament - VP Reding'.

My request has been extended with 15 days "in order to retrieve the documents requested from a large file".
I do not consider this justified.

An exchange of letters between MEPs (Bostinaru, Bruni and ALDE Coordinator - see video) and Vice President Reding should not be so difficult to identify. I assume their is a register, so the reason given for the extension seems to me not valid.

Therefore I kindly request access to the exchange of letters without further delay.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/excha...

Yours faithfully,

Arun Dohle

Dear Mr Dohle,

Thank you for your message dated 14/08/2013.

After analysis of the file of your request, it appears that the
Directorate-General for Justice sent you a extension of deadline in line
with the Regulation 1049/2001.

Consequently, your request for confirmatory application is premature and
will not be registered by our service.

Directorate-General for Justice will send you an answer within the
extended deadline, namely 03/09/2013.

In order to be able to treat more quickly your correspondence, may I
kindly ask you, in your future messages, to mention the reference of the
Commission corresponding to the request you are talking about (GestDem
number)?

Thank you by advance for your kind cooperation.

Sincerely yours,
