Review of Expert Groups

Secretariat General of the European Commission did not have the information requested.

Dear Secretariat General (SG),

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

The review of expert groups conducted by each DG in response to the European Parliament budget reserve of Novembet 2011, including all groups that were highlighted as problematic and all actions across all DGs that are to be taken.

Yours faithfully,

Pascoe Sabido

Secretariat General of the European Commission

Dear Mr. Sabido,

We have identified a document reflecting the review carried out by
Commission DGs in response to the European Parliament budget reserve
mentioned in your request for access to documents. This document includes
in a consolidated form the initiatives launched by each DG concerned in
relation to specific groups placed under their responsibility, as a result
of the above-mentioned review.

We assume this document should correspond to your request. Can you please
confirm?

Yours faithfully,

Antonello Maschio

Dear Secretariat General (SG),

Thank you for your timely response. As the document you mentioned wasn't attached, I have no way of knowing whether it was the document I requested.

However, to try and make this simpler, if it is the September 22 State of Play by the Commission, then it is not the document I am looking for. While that document is a good overview of some of the work being carried out by the Commission, it does not cover all DGs. I would like to see the documents prepared by each DG submitted to the SG highlighting the review they have carried out and also the decision taken to classify some groups as problematic and others not.

I assume that as the review was Commission-wide, each DG conducted a review and responded, even if they did not identify expert groups within their DG as problematic.

I look forward to hearing back from you,

Yours faithfully,

Pascoe Sabido

Secretariat General of the European Commission
