30 September 2011
Dear Council of the EU,
Under the right of access to documents as enshrined in Article 15
on the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU and Article 42 of the
European Charter of Fundamental Rights, and as developed in
Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the
following information:
The status of the debates in the Council on the possible
introduction of a tax on international financial transactions, and
more concretely, which countries are in favour of the tax, and
which are not. If possible, I would like to request access to
Member States' arguments for and against the aforementioned tax.
Please send this to me in electronic format if possible.
Thanks very much.
Yours faithfully,
Pam Bartlett Quintanilla
