Smuggling of Illegal Drugs into Ireland 2008-2013

Dear European Police Office,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

1. The total value of illegal drugs seized while being smuggled into Ireland, from 2008 until present.

2. The list of types of drugs involved in these seizures, accompanied by their individual values.

3. The number of seizures of illegal drugs being smuggled into Ireland.

4. The list of ports and airports which these seizures occurred at, and the countries where the shipments originated from.

5. The number of prosecutions that have come from these seizures, and how many of these have involved Irish citizens, and how many have involved EU citizens, and how many of these were male/female.

After internal examination, we find no documents containing the information you request. Please note that this does not mean you have been refused public access, but rather that the documents you seek containing the specific information you mention are not present. You might consider addressing your question to the European Monitoring Centre for Drug and Drug Abuse (EMCDDA) that could hold statistical data regarding seizures on smuggling of illegal drugs.
