Subject: 
Invitation for a meeting of the EU27 Member States1  on 
cybersecurity and standardisation in relation to the withdrawal of 
the United Kingdom from the EU 
 
A meeting of the EU27 Member States on cybersecurity and standardisation will take 
place: 
  On 25 June 2019, back to back to the 19th meeting of the Committee on 
Standards. 
  In Brussels, in the CCAB (Centre de Conférence Albert Borschette) Building, rue 
Froissart, 36, Brussels (Metro: Schuman) - Meeting room: AB-3D
  Starting at 10:00 and ending at 14:00. 
Please note that simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French, German, 
Italian, Spanish and Polish. 
  The objectives of the meeting are to discuss future challenges for cybersecurity 
standardisation, including 5G networks, and suitable policy initiatives at the EU level. 
  The draft agenda for the seminar is annexed. 
  For meetings in the Commission's premises, participants have to bring both the 
invitation and the e-pass with them for accessing the building

1   As regards security-sensitive issues, the United Kingdom was informed in a letter of 24 January 2018  
by the Commission’s then Secretary-General to the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom 
to the EU that the United Kingdom, in well-circumscribed circumstances, would no longer be able to 
participate in certain information exchanges and Member States’ meetings. The European Council 
(Art. 50) conclusions of 10 April 2019 (paragraph 8), adopted when the period provided for in Article 
50(3) TEU was extended for the second time, confirmed that the 27 Member States and the 
Commission will continue to meet separately at all levels to discuss matters related to the situation 
after the withdrawal of the United Kingdom.
