Dear
,
Thank you for your swift reply. I confirm the slot is duly blocked in Mr Stengg’s agenda.
I am grateful to receive closer to the date any other technical details (Teams links for example)
and agenda-related information that could help him prepare his intervention.
For transparency purposes, this meeting might be published on the Commissioner's website and
will be declared in the Transparency Register of the European Commission. Please make sure
your organisation is duly registered. The Cabinet does not intend to communicate actively on the
content of this meeting. However, in line with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, minutes can be
made accessible to the public upon request (without any disclosure of protected interests).
With kind regards,

Dear
Executive Vice-President Margrethe Vestager asked me to thank you for all the information
provided in your email and the invitation addressed to her attention to speak and debate during
the Board of Directors meeting your organisation is hosting on 20/04 .
Due to a very busy period with numerous institutional commitments, EVP Vestager is unable to
respond positively to your invitation. Nevertheless, she suggested that her main adviser on the
Digital Policy Mr Werner Stengg could represent her and transmit her message during the event.
Mr Stengg is available to join the meeting from 11:30 to 12:30.
I stay at your disposal for the practical arrangements should you wish to take this option.
With kind regards,
European Commission

Subject: Invitation to participate in Ecommerce Europe's Board of Directors on 20 April
2021 (online)
Dear Ms. Vestager,
I hope this email finds you well.
am contacting you on behalf of Ecommerce Europe, the European digital commerce
association representing around 150,000 retailers selling goods and services online.
As you know, 2020 has been a turning point for the digital commerce industry, with
consumers becoming increasingly reliant on the sector during strict lockdown measures all
over Europe. Consequently, many online shops have experienced significant growth and
brick-and-mortar shops have rapidly developed online sales channels. At the same time,
other e-commerce segments, such as services like online ticketing for events and traveling,
have also suffered serious losses. At European level, the digital and green ambition is quickly
advancing, and many relevant legislative files (such as the Digital Services Act, Digital
Markets Act, digital levy etc) are on the agenda this year. Within Ecommerce Europe, we are
determined to make a positive contribution to these legislative developments and we
consider the growth of e-commerce to be an opportunity to structurally shift to more a
sustainable retail sector.
In this context, I would like to kindly invite you to participate in our Board of Directors that will
take place on Tuesday, 20 April from 10h30-13h00 (Brussels time) via Microsoft Teams
to reflect on the Commission’s vision for the digital sector for the coming years, in particular
in relation to the recovery plans and upcoming legislation. Our Board of Directors is
composed of high-level industry stakeholders and CEOs from all over Europe.
The Ecommerce Europe’s Board of Directors would be very pleased to welcome you for a 20
minutes presentation from your side, followed by an exchange of views on the opportunities
and the challenges brought by the COVID-19 outbreak, the recovery plans and the digital
ambitions of the European Commission. For further information on our priorities for this year,
in case you have not seen it yet, you can find Ecommerce Europe’s priority paper for 2021
here.
We look forward to hearing from you and we remain at your disposal for any further
information.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
Kind regards,
