Hi
,

I would check these calculations with
 or
at DG ENER, but they are
slightly terrifying if accurate given the loopholes in the current drafts of the DAs.

Speak soon.

Best,

Hi
,

We made a few high level calculations a few days ago to try to wrap our head around the
required renewable energy capacity to electrolyse the 10Mt green H2 in Europe, as
REPowerEU calls for. This doesn’t go directly to the language of the DA’s, but allow me to share
them with you, in case it could be of interest.

The first graph is assuming dedicated offshore wind capacity just for H2 electrolysis, and
compares it to a few reference points. The second compares FF55 with REPowerEU in a few
scenario’s. The last scenario assumes there’s no additional offshore wind for H2 electrolysis,
and the H2 is used for power generation. These are of course just order of magnitude
calculations. I wonder if these strike you as directionally correct.

Dear
,

It would be good to have
, too. How about today at 16h00, or Friday at 14h00?

Dear
,

Thank you for reaching out. The DA’s are a subject of much discussion indeed. We’ll be
happy to exchange insights.
I don’t know on what time line you would like to talk. Any chance you would be
available tomorrow, Wednesday, afternoon? Or Friday afternoon (except 15-16:00)?

If you don’t mind and if we can make the agenda’s work, I’d like to invite our colleague
