6. The Belgian draft decree partially adopts the amendment of Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006 on the addition of
substances to foods and Directive 2002/46/EC on food supplements, and partially formulates new national rules
whilst updating old ones with new scientific results based on national nutritional surveys. This means that the draft
is fully eligible from a professional point of view. Given that, however, for lack of EU-level regulation, it sets
maximum limits of vitamins and minerals, and prescribes that warning texts must be published above certain
amounts whilst prohibiting the use of two sources of vitamins (nicotinic acid, inositol hexanicotinate) allowed by
Directive 2002/46/EC, it may pose an obstacle to the free movement of (Hungarian) goods.
