Air Quality Directive: WPE on 23 January 2023 - Proposal for a Directive of the
European Parliament and of the Council on ambient air quality and cleaner air for
Europe (recast) - Information from the Presidency
At the WPE meeting on 18 November 2022 the European Commission presented the proposal and its
impact assessment (docs. 14217/22 + ADD 1 - 6). Delegations were invited to provide written comments
and questions by 16 December.
During the WPE meeting on 23 January 2023, the Commission will provide answers to delegations'
questions, and we will start the first reading of the proposal following the sequence of the proposed
directive, keeping the articles grouped thematically and together with their related annexes. The meeting
will cover " Chapter I - General Provisions", articles 1-6. Concerning article 4, we invite delegations to
provide their initial comments on the definitions, but we will also later come back to the definitions in
relation to each relevant article.
