SEA Europe had requested this meeting to further detail its interests in the TTIP negotiations.
SEA Europe reiterated the importance for the EU shipbuilding industry to obtain selective new
market openings in the US market. This refers to both the shipbuilding activity itself and the
repair/reconstruction of vessels.

SEA
Europe indicated that it will continue to work to build a convincing file and will increase its
efforts to gather both in the EU and in the US support in favour of an upcoming EU request in
maritime transport.
DG Trade indicated that it would try to organise an informal meeting of
[Art. 4.1(a)]
member states, before the end of the month, in order to involve national governments as well.
