I have just had a meeting with Transparency International on other issues and gave them a copy.
They will treat it discretely and come back to us end of March at the latest.

Ref. MEPs I would stick right now to Roth-Behrendt and then see again next week once we know what amendments have been tabled in the associated committees.

Subject: Whistleblowing - information to MEP's etc

Hi Christian,

Since the intention is to inform certain MEP's, the ethics correspondents and Transparency International of the draft guidelines in parallel with the ISC, do you want us to prepare transmission notes with a short explanation for the signature of VPS, or do you want to do this informally (meeting?)?

I have the following names: MEP's Roth-Behrendt, Baldassarre, Grässle, Geier, and Theuer.

Anyone else? I'd suggest to include Andreasen, she's rapporteur for whistleblowing in CONT. A pre-copy to the Ombudsman would also be a good idea, since he was heard by CONT on the study.

In addition to Transparency International, we could send a copy to Public Concern at Work, a leading UK organisation in this area, which has written to Karen offering advice and help (and their services).

For the ethics correspondents, should we (DG HR) do the transmission? There will in any case be a meeting with VPS at some point.

Thanks,

René
