Subject: Invitation: Lunch briefing with Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell, 8th Dec
Dear

I am writing to invite you, or your nominated deputy, to a private lunch briefing:
Hosted by Chairman of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Charles O. Holliday
“From Paris to Marrakech to a World of Net Zero Emissions”
A briefing on the latest Shell Scenarios to 2050
Presented by
 Shell
Thursday December 8th 11h00 for 11h15 followed by 12h30 Lunch
Venue: Press Club Brussels, 95 Rue Froissart
Chatham House Rule
Shell’s scenario work explores how the world can move to net-zero emissions while providing
the necessary energy to support the lives of nearing 10 billion people by the end of the century.
It is technically feasible but it will be very challenging.
The latest Shell Scenarios to 2050 take the most optimistic features of our 2013 scenarios and
combine them with individually plausible, further shifts in policy, technology deployment,
circumstances, and events that might move the world onto a new, even lower-emission
trajectory, resulting in net-zero emissions on a timescale consistent with global aspirations.
To achieve net-zero emissions requires the transformation of the entire global economy,
especially in four foundational areas where a significant proportion of energy-related emissions
of CO2 occurs: Power, Industry, Transportation and Buildings.

Please join us for this presentation and discussion about the choices and challenges for society to
decarbonise the global economy in ways that could address climate change and the desire for
broader economic growth. We will reflect on the COP 22 discussions in Marrakech and consider
what all this means for European climate and energy policy, looking forward.
Please RSVP to
@shell.com) if you are able to join us. Places will
be limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
I hope I can welcome you at this event.
