•  Chemicals: GROW informed on state of play and next steps of two major REFIT initiatives
(i.e. the fitness check on chemicals legislation and the REACH REFIT). BEUC expressed
concerns about exposure to hazardous chemicals in consumer products, in particular
imported products (it referred to REACH authorisation requirements). GROW reminded
that REACH restrictions, general product safety requirements and product-specific
requirements do apply to imported products. BEUC encouraged the Commission to take
further action to reduce exposure to endocrine disruptors in toys, cosmetics and other
consumer products. GROW underlined the importance of a coherent approach to
endocrine disruptors.
