Dear Ms Marti,
We refer to your letter dated 08/04/2019 in which you make a request for access to
documents, registered on the same day under the above mentioned reference number.
You requested a complete list of all meetings held by any member of DG HOME with
churches, religious associations or communities, as well as with philosophical and non-
confessional organisations, from 1 January 2014 to 8 April 2019, specifying the status of
the organization (church, religious association or community, philosophical association
or non-confessional association). All documents, including all emails, minutes, reports or
other documents received or drawn up before, during or after the meetings, and any other
briefing papers related to these meetings.
In the sequence of your request, we identified the following meetings held at high level:

26/02/2015: Director General Ruete meeting with Diakonie Deutschland on
Migration and Asylum
05/10/2015: Director General Ruete meeting with the International Catholic
Migration Commission – Europe churches Commission for Migrants in
Europe on Refugee Resettlement.
04/12/2017: Director General Ruete meeting with Kommissariat der deutschen
Bischofe Katholisches Buro in Berlin on developments in the field of
migration, with a focus on integration.

For the above-mentioned meetings covered by your request, we regret to inform you that
the Commission does not hold any documents related to those meeting, since no briefings,
minutes or any other documents were drafted.
As specified in Article 2(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, the right of access as
defined in that regulation applies only to existing documents in the possession of the
institution. Given that no such documents, corresponding to the description given in your
application, are held by the Commission, the Commission is not in a position to fulfil
your request.
In accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, you are entitled to make
a confirmatory application requesting the Commission to review this position.
Such a confirmatory application should be addressed within 15 working days upon receipt
of this letter to the Secretariat-General of the Commission at the following address:
