Transmission System Operators for Gas) representatives:

ENTSOG wanted to discuss the future of Gas Grids and Decarbonising EU Industries and to exchange views
on the potential for decarbonising gas and its impact on European energy-intensive industries.
ENTSOG was set by EU legislation to facilitate cooperation between Transmission System Operators and to
support the internal gas market with infrastructure plans, supply outlooks, and the development of
With the decarbonisation of the EU energy by 2050, the gas infrastructure will play a major role in
transportation of energy (gas is 6 times more efficient wrt. transportation costs than electricity). 20% of
electricity in the EU is generated from gas. Gas infrastructure is flexible with regard to seasonality of energy

ENTSOG advocates for dynamic incentives, regulatory stability and new business models in the sector.

-EU + MS hybrid energy carrier systems
-Sector integration electricity gas
-Improve regulation/coordination between electricity and gas
-Ensure level playing field for Green Energy Technologies
-Innovate with gas for consistent technology for renewable and decarbonised gas
