Dear Sir,
We refer to your e-mail of 29 June 2020 in which you make a request for access to
documents, registered on 29 June 2020 under the above-mentioned reference number.
You requested access to the following documents:

All documents related to a meeting Anthony Whelan, Cabinet member of Ursula
von der Leyen, and a representative of Samsung on January 23, 2020. The reply
should include documents such as meeting minutes, e-mails and other
correspondence.
We enclose the following documents related to this meeting:

Email request for a meeting of 6 December 2019;

Minutes from the meeting with Samsung held on 23 January 2020

Thank-you email from Samsung of 28 January 2020;
The document ‘Thank-you email from Samsung of 28 January 2020’ contains an
attachment. However, its disclosure is prevented by the exception to the right of access laid
down in Article 4(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The attachment ‘Samsung
Networks for DG Connect’ contains sensitive business information and the author has
objected to its disclosure.
In addition, some of the documents contain personal data that has been redacted according
to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 ) and to the internal
rules of procedure of the Commission. Your request does not ask to have access to these
personal data, and does not establish the necessity to have the data transmitted.

If you disagree with this position, you are entitled, in accordance with Article 7(2) of
Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, to submit a confirmatory application requesting the
