Dear Ms Balanya,
We refer to your request addressed to the Commission to access documents, dated
12/07/2020, registered on 13/07/2020 under the following reference number: GESTDEM
2020/4243. We also refer to the email sent by the Secretariat-General to you on
2/09/2020 explaining that the relevant documents could not be identified within the
required time limit. Finally, we refer to your confirmatory application dated 24/09/2020
and registered on 25/09/2020.
Please find enclosed a copy of correspondence between the Secretariat-General and
Arcelor Mittal that falls within your document request. The search for relevant
documents is however still ongoing as the handling of your application could not yet be
completed at this stage. In line with Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, your
confirmatory application will be handled within 15 working days from the registration of
your application (i.e. by 16/10/2020). In case this time limit needs to be extended, you
will be informed in due course.
Please note that in line with Article 4(1)(b) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, in the
attached document, all personal data has been redacted. In your request, you do not
express any particular interest to have access to these personal data nor do you put
forward any arguments to establish the necessity to have the data transmitted for a
specific purpose in the public interest.
In case you disagree with this position, you are entitled, in accordance with Article 7(2)
of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, to submit a confirmatory application requesting the
Commission to review its position denying you access to personal data. Such a
confirmatory application should be addressed within 15 working days upon receipt of
this letter to the Secretariat-General of the Commission at the following address:
