Dear Mr Abdul Hai,
We refer to your e-mails of 23 November 2020 (initial request) and 24 November 2020
(reply to postal address request), registered on 24 November 2020 under the above
mentioned reference number, by which you made a request pursuant to Regulation
1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission
documents1.
You asked:
“Can you publish the dates and who attended all meetings between members
of Mr Barnier's team and the Scottish Government? Also can you publish what was
discussed in those meetings?”
We identified the following documents related to the meetings between Mr Michel
Barnier and Ms Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, and the representatives of the
Scottish Government, since the beginning of the negotiations:
1. Minutes of the meeting of 13 July 2017;
2. Minutes of the meeting of 28 May 2018;
3. Minutes of the meeting of 11 June 2019;
4. Minutes of the meeting of 10 February 2020.
After consultation of third parties in accordance with Article 4(4) of Regulation
1049/2001, wide partial access is granted to the above listed documents, subject to the
redaction of personal data (the name of the official who does not occupy any senior
management position) on the basis of the exception of Article 4(1)(b) of Regulation
1049/2001 related to the protection of the privacy and integrity of the individual.
In accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation 1049/2001, you are entitled to introduce a
confirmatory application requesting the Commission to review this position.
