Ref. Ares(2020)7729037 - 18/12/2020

By mail and letter attached.

Geachte Executive Vice President Timmermans,

Following the State of the Union, and your earlier dialogues with our CEO’s both in
person in Amsterdam and by video earlier this year, I would like to ask you if you would
be interested in a video dialogue with the
 Cefic and
 BASF,
His appointment as
 is still confidential until
our General Assembly October 15th.

Our request would be to address the at least 55% target for 2030 announced yesterday –
in a similar way you addressed BDI, and if possible, the Chemical Strategy for
Sustainability under the Green Deal – which is planned for October 14th. Both fit in what
we discussed to become the sectoral green deal for the chemical industry.

The idea is that we would set up a video dialogue between you and
, which would be open to be watched by the CEO’s and high level
executives of the wider European chemical industry and moderated by
(
), who you have met in Amsterdam at our convention two years ago.

It would be a great way to address all of the chemical industry at once and give your view
and send a clear message on these two crucial topics for the future of our sector.

As the Chemical Strategy is expected the 14th of October, we would prefer Friday 16th of
October, but pending your agenda, Thursday 15th could also be an option. If this would
be better for you, we could also pre-record and broadcast.

Looking forward to your reaction, hartelijk dank.

Yours sincerely,
