Subject: Exchange on EU Sustainable Corporate Governance & Corporate Due Diligence
Dear Ms Constantin and Mr de Elera,

We hope you and your colleagues are doing well at this time.

We are contacting you on behalf the NGO coalition working on a mandatory
mechanism for corporate due diligence on human rights and the environment.
This coalition includes Amnesty International, Anti-Slavery
International, CIDSE, Clean Clothes Campaign, ClientEarth, European Centre for
Constitutional and Human Rights, the European Coalition for Corporate
Justice, Friends of the Earth Europe, FIDH, Global Witness and Oxfam EU.

We are following closely the debates and policy work in the Commission,
Parliament and Council on the topic of Sustainable Corporate Governance,
Corporate Due Diligence and Corporate Accountability. In particular we have
provided input to the recent Commission consultation and welcomed the
first vote on the European Parliament Report on this issue.

Through meetings with Commissioner Reynders and staff in DG JUST, we have
had the opportunity to discuss our priority issues. We understand that the
Commissioner is committed to publishing a proposal this year and that he is due
to present a legislative proposal to the College of Commissioner in the coming
months

In that context and in view of your role in the Cabinet of Commissioner Jourová,
we would very much welcome the opportunity to organise a call with you to

discuss this file and to present our views on the future Sustainable Corporate
Governance initiative, in particular as regards Corporate Due Diligence and
Corporate Accountability.

If this would be possible and you would be available for such a call, then we
kindly ask that you suggest a time and date at your convenience.

We hope this will indeed be possible and we look forward to being in contact on
this issue!

Many thanks.

Kind regards,
