Short summary 
 
Mme  Geneviève  Tuts,  head  of  cabinet  of  Commissioner  Reynders,  met  with  the  FEB 
(Fédération des entreprises de Belgique) on the upcoming Commission’s legislative initiative 
on sustainable corporate governance, upon their invitation.  
Mrs  Tuts  presented  and  then  discussed  with  the  participants  the  issues  of  corporate  due 
diligence  and  of  directors’  duties.  The  respective  roles  of  governments  and  companies  in 
relation  to  crucial  challenges  like  climate  change  were  discussed,  as  well  as  the  possible 
practical implications of the upcoming proposal on businesses, in particular SMEs.
