Access to documents data

Die Anfrage war erfolgreich.

Dear European Asylum Support Office,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

All data on the handling of access to documents requests by the EASO for the years 2012-2017, both inclusive. If the data for the year 2017 is currently being processed and is therefore not yet ready for publication, then the data for the years 2012-2016 should do.

I am looking specifically for broken down data, per year, on:
- number of initial access to documents applications and types of outcome (full access, partial access, refusal, etc);
- number of confirmatory applications and types of outcome;
- number of complaints to the European Ombudsman on the EASO's application of Regulation 1049/2001;
- number of cases brought before the EU Courts on the EASO's application of the Regulation;
- application of the exceptions laid out in Article 4 of the Regulation in case of partial access or refusal;
- documents most frequently requested; and
- application of deadline extensions.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any clarification in regards to any aspect of my request.

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Luisa Izuzquiza

Dear EASO,

Sorry for the late reply. Many thanks for your response and the document provided! The data is indeed very useful.

I was wondering if EASO is in possession of, and would be able to provide, further details on the application of exeptions laid out in Article 4 of Reg 1049/2001 for the years 2012-2017 (taking into account, of course, the technical difficulties that might arise for the extraction of data related to the years 2014 and 2015).

To give an example, I would be looking for details such as the ones that can be found in the EEAS report on access to documents for 2013 (see here: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/5103... in page 3). If this level of detail is not possible, an estimation of which exceptions under Article 4 are most frequently applied (per year, ideally) would be also very welcome.

Many thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Luisa Izuzquiza
