Dear Ms Clark,

Subject: Access to documents from Member States on by-catch provisions in 2017 TACs (Ares(2017)1593443)

Thank you for your response to our access to documents request.

In view of the fact that the Member States have not provided scientific evidence to support their new requests for provisions allowing by-catches in fisheries targeting pelagic species, could you confirm that these provisions will not be included in Council Regulation (EU) 2017/127 through an in-year amendment until such time as the evidence is produced and assessed?
