Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Any documents since october 2023 the 17th that do discuss or mention new genetic modification techniques (those latter can also be refered to as genome editing, new plant breeding, new genomic techniques, new biotechnologies etc.) in relation to their regulation and/or regulatory status and/or in relation to their claimed benefits or risks, including correspondence (emails or other), reports, briefings, as well as attachments, and a list of meetings (since 17 october 2023) with detailed minutes and any other reports of such meetings.
This also includes documents exchanged between DGs, as wel as between the Commission and EU Member States, third countries and/or permanent representations.
I also request any messages exchanged via whatsapp, SMS, or any other communication channel between the DG SANTE Biotechnology Unit and representatives of Croplife EU, Bayer, BASF, Syngenta, Corteva or any companies; and/or any member of the Agriculture committee of the European Parliament; and/or any member of the Environment committee of the European Parliament, for the same period.
I would like to receive the complete set of documents digitally.
I kindly urge you to not apply a rigid interpretation of the clause on commercial secrets. Should this request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation.
I look forward to a positive consideration of this request and I thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Yours faithfully, Eric Meunier (Inf'OGM)

part of your ATD request.
We are therefore contacting you to let us know whether you agree with

SANTE ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS
Dear [email address],
I wish to thank you for sending me 32 documents in different messages (see your 5 communication dated of
the 7 march 2024).
I nonetheless would like to stress that none of the sent documents do match with the list of requested ones I sent you on the 16th february 2024, in reply of your fair solution proposal you made on 15th february 2024). As I did provided the list of documents requested within five working days, your services did not have to choose the documents to be sent. I therefore kindly urge you to send me the documents requested, meaning documents numbered n° 2 - 11 - 12 - 15 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 - 21 - 22 - 31 - 39 - 40 - 41 - 44 - 46 - 47 - 48 - 52 - 53 - 54 - 55 - 56 - 58 - 60 - 61 - 62 - 63 - 64 - 65 - 67 (corresponding to the number in the list you sent me on 15 february 2024).
Yours sincerely,
Eric Meunier
Dear Mr Meunier,
Thank you very much for your below email, but also for the confirmation concerning the consultation.
The 32 documents you received on 7 March are those from the Secretariat General. In fact, given the scope of your initial request 2024/0497, we at DG SANTE consulted other DGs and the Secretariat General to check if they would have other documents falling within your request. The SG had identified a number of documents that they sent you on 7 March.
The reply from SANTE, including the documents agreed in the fair solution, is currently in the workflow to be signed at the appropriate level. We hope to be able to send you our reply as soon as possible.
Thank you very much in advance for your patience.
With kind regards,
