Application procedure and process for the European Science & Technology Network on Unconventional Hydrocarbon Extraction
Dear Joint Research Centre,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
All documents, minutes of meetings and correspondence relating to the application and selection procedure of members to the European Science & Technology Network on Unconventional Hydrocarbon Extraction, including with those who were either not accepted or did not accept an offer, as well as any document which outlines the procedure behind choosing members.
Yours faithfully,
Pascoe Sabido
Dear Joint Research Centre,
Due to the possible amount of information that the request may produce (much of which will be personal data that will need to be redacted), please limit the request to the following:
- the document outlining the selection procedure and rationale (whether it would be an open call etc. and why)
- A list of all those who applied to the group (successful and unsuccessful)
- A list of all of those who were approached to apply to the group (successful and unsuccessful)
Yours faithfully,
Pascoe Sabido

Dear Joint Research Centre,
Please can you let me know when I will receive the requested information, as I have neither received a confirmation nor an indication as to why such a delay has occurred, despite the legal requirement.
Yours faithfully,
Pascoe Sabido
Dear Mr. Sabido,
Thank you for your e-mails from 30 April 2015 relating to the 3 access to documents requests submitted through the website Ask the EU with registration numbers 1899-58145cb, 1897-5c1895fa and 1905-f5bd068e. By mail of 10 April 2015 we acknowledged the receipt of your 4 original requests for access to documents and informed you that we consider these requests as one request as they relate to the same Network. When we extended the time limit for replying to the request by mail of 29 April, we of course intended to extend the time limit for all four requests, including the three for which you now ask what the status is.
We reiterate that your application covers a large number of documents which we have identified and which we are at present analysing for deciding whether they can be released or not.
Yours sincerely,
JRC ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS
