Dear Mr Wabungo,
We refer to your confirmatory application for access to documents, addressed to the IAS on 20 August 2021 and registered in OLAF on 23 August 2021 under the reference number Ares(2021)5235656.
OLAF has registered your confirmatory application, on the basis of the postal address you provided, on 21 June 2021 and upon request, in the framework of your initial application.
Indeed, you replied that your address is “Dijkstraat 2, 9200 Termonde, Belgique”. Accordingly, the paper version of OLAF’s reply to your initial application, registered in OLAF under reference Ares(2021)4988365 – 05/08/2021 was sent to the postal address you have indicated.
However, the Belgian post has returned to OLAF its letter, with the mention “inadequate/incorrect address”. Given that the notification of the Belgian post was registered in OLAF on 25 August 2021, i.e. two days after the registration of your confirmatory application, we consider that your confirmatory application should not have been registered.
As it appears that you have provided OLAF with an incorrect postal address, we regret to inform you that your confirmatory application cannot be handled pending the submission of a valid, real and personal postal address.
We would like to inform you that pursuant to Article 2(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, the right of access to documents is granted to a citizen of the Union, and any natural or legal person
residing or having its registered office in a Member State.
We therefore kindly invite you to provide a full valid, real and personal postal address and a document proving your residence at that address, so we can duly register and handle your request.
Please note that, once we receive this, we will register your request as a confirmatory application for access to documents in the meaning of Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The deadline for handling your confirmatory application shall run as from the moment of registration of your application following the submission of your postal address and a proof of residence at that address.
Yours sincerely,
EUROPEAN COMMISSION
