Estimado Agencia Europea de Seguridad Marítima,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Acceso a la base de datos sobre accidentes marítimos que elabora cada país miembro de la Unión Europea y que después remiten a la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Marítima.
Thank you for your message. The European Marine Casualty Platform (EMCIP) is an electronic database dedicated to the storage and analysis of data on marine casualties and incidents by the Member States of the European Union and only by them. Access to the database is only granted to Authorities of the Member States, as per Article 17 of the Directive 2009/18/EC.
With regards to its content, please be informed that some information related to investigations of marine casualties, including investigation reports as provided by the Member States to the Commission, have been made available to the public on EMCIP Portal. You can find them by using the following link: https://emcipportal.jrc.ec.europa.eu / under the section named "casualties".
We would like hereby to inform you of your right to submit within 15 working days from the receipt of this email a confirmatory application asking for a reconsideration of your request as set out in Art. 3.6 of the Administrative Board decision 25/06/2004.
My best regards,
Document Access Coordinator
