Cleaning costs
Dear European Parliament,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Bureau minutes (PV BUR. 11.05.2020) state that "in some sectors, additional staff were recruited, inter alia, cleaning where cost had increased by EUR 500000 per month".
I am seeking:
All correspondence – including all attachments – regarding, mentioning or discussing cleaning cost pertaining to the EU 500,000 increase per month.
- All relevant operational plans, including all annexes as well as all reports, evaluations, studies and analysis of any kind on this matter.

Dear Mr Nielsen,
The deadline for replying to your application concerning public access to
documents under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 registered on 07/09/2020
expires next Monday, on 28/09/2020.
However, due to the fact that the internal consultation process for
identifying the relevant documents and that the detailed analysis of all
legal aspects linked to the possible disclosure of these documents are
still ongoing, in order to reply to your application Parliament
exceptionally needs to extend the time-limit provided for in Article 7(1)
of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 by a further 15 working days, in
accordance with Article 7(3) of the same regulation.

Dear Mr Nielsen,
Further to your application seeking public access to documents in relation
with the increase of Euro 500,000 per month on cleaning costs due to the
COVID-19 outbreak as mentioned in the minutes of the Bureau ordinary
meeting of 11 May 2020, Parliament has identified the Note of the
Secretary-General to the Bureau of 22 April 2020 on the management of
external staff contracts following the COVID-10 outbreak as the document
falling within the scope of your application. Indeed, as reflected in the
above-mentioned Bureau minutes, this document laid the basis on which the
proceedings took place at the Bureau ordinary meeting of 11 May 2020 as
far as this topic is concerned.
Parliament therefore grants public access to the Note of 22 April 2020.
Please find the document attached herewith.
On this basis, Parliament considers your application as handled and the
