Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Any assessments made by or for the commission in the last 5 years of the increased risk of human disease spread caused by climate change or the effects of climate change, and any work by or for the commission on mitigating those risks.

Directorates-General for the Environment (DG ENV), for Health and Food
Safety (DG SANTE) and for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), where you are asking
for access to documents responding to the following description:

The Directorate-General for Research and Innovation has been consulted in
the framework of your requests and has decided to register a new request,
under its competence, in order to conduct its own research and assessment
of potentially identified documents. We hereby acknowledge receipt of
your request for access to documents, registered today (20/03/2020), under
reference number GestDem 2020/1630.

 

Currently, we are in the process of identifying documents, falling within
the competence of our Directorate, which could fall within the scope of
the request.

 

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, your request will
be handled within 15 working days. The time limit will expire on
15/04/2020. In case this time limit needs to be extended, you will be
informed in due course.

Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 registered under reference GestDem 2020/1630.

 

Unfortunately we are not in position to complete the handling of your
request within the prescribed time limit of 15 working days, which expires
today 15/04/2020. This delay is caused by the fact that your request
concerns documents held by different services which need to be consulted.

 

Therefore, we have to extend the above-mentioned deadline by 15 working
days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001. The
new time limit will expire on 07/05/2020.
