Dear Registre,

I have received a reply from you relating to this request for information (letter marked D 305044 11.03.2016).

I am dissatisfied with your decision to redact substantial parts of the correspondence you have provided. I disagree with your assessment that issues of privacy are involved and argue that there is an overwhelming public interest in understanding how EU institutions manage their relationship with institutional whistle-blowers.

I herewith lodge a confirmatory application with a reasoned request for Parliament's position to be reconsidered.

Yours sincerely,

James Panichi

Dear Mr Panichi,

On 29 March 2016 the European Parliament registered your confirmatory application for public access to documents. The different elements relevant to the request are still under consideration. Therefore the time limit for handling your application laid down in Article 8(1) of Regulation 1049/2001 has to be extended by further 15 working days, as foreseen by Article 8(2) of the same Regulation. The new deadline is thus 12 May (5, 6 May are not working days for Parliament's administration).

We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards,
