Correspondence EU Methane Regulation
Dear Energy,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
All documentation from 1 January 2020 up to date, including but not limited to correspondence to and from all officials from DG ENER (including cabinet members +/or officials) as well as minutes, summaries and logs of online and in-person meetings, related to the consideration of extending measures in the upcoming proposal for an EU Methane Regulation across the supply chain to cover all oil and gas consumed in the EU, imports included. This includes measures on monitoring, reporting, verification (MRV), leak detection and repair (LDAR) and restrictions on routine venting and flaring (BRVF). In responding to this request, the Commission need not provide that information which was submitted during public consultation and then subsequently made publicly available on the following portal (https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-reg...) but all other information is hereby requested.
Yours faithfully,
Enrico Donda

Dear Mr Donda,
We refer to your e-mail of 24 November 2021 in which you make a request
for access to documents, registered on 24 November 2021 under the above
mentioned reference number. Your application is currently being handled.
However, we will not be in a position to complete the handling of your
application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expired on 15
December 2021.
An extended time limit is needed as the application concerns documents
held by different Services, which must be consulted.
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 14 January 2022.
We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
Yours faithfully,
