Europäisches Parlament

Dear Ms Roussinova,

your request with regard to Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities
was registered today. All applications for public access to documents are
handled in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001.

Parliament does not operate facilities of the kind you refer to.
Confidenfial information in Parliament is managed through secure areas and
secure reading rooms, i.e. areas and rooms to which access is limited and
which do not contain technical equipment that would allow for the
reproduction or transmission of documents. The nature of such areas and
rooms and the modalities of access thereto are regulated by the relevant
Bureau decision governing the treatment of confidential information, and
in particular its articles 7 to 10, which is available [1]here.

Further rules on the treatment of confidential documents are available in
section E. of Parliament's compendium of legal acts, which you may find
[2]here. You may also wish to consult [3]Rule 221 of Parliament's Rules of
Procedure regarding the treatment of confidential information in camera.
Indeed, Parliament's committees and bodies may sometimes meet in camera
where this is necessary in view of the nature of the subject-matter in
question.

With this response, Parliament considers you request as handled and the
file as closed. Please do not hesitate to come back to us if you would
like to apply for access to specific Parliament documents.

Best regards,
