Do some Member States receive more E

Die Anfrage war erfolgreich.

Dear European Court of Auditors,

I have been researching the European Court of Auditors and have developed a concern that expenditure in certain Member States receives much greater scrutiny than others.

With this in mind, under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting:

A list setting out the number of audits carried out by the European Court of Auditors into European Regional Development Fund projects in each Member State between 1.1.2010 and 1.7.2015.

Yours faithfully,

Marcel Hopp

Der Europäische Rechnungshof

Dear Mr Hopp,

On 2 July 2015 the European Court of Auditors (ECA) received by email your
request for access to information regarding a list setting out the number
of audits carried out by the ECA into European Regional Development Fund
(ERDF) projects in each Member State between 1.1.2010 and 1.7.2015.

Please be informed that the information regarding the audits related to
the reliability of accounts as well as to the legality and regularity of
underlying transactions (i.e. the statement-of-assurance or DAS audits)
the ECA carried out between 2009 and 2013 in the area of agriculture and
cohesion - by Member State - is available on the ECA's website
[1]eca.europa.euin a document entitled "[2]Agriculture and cohesion:
overview of EU spending 2007-2013". The annexes of the document present
the information on the number of transactions examined by the ECA per
Member State.

Annex 2 (page 45) - Frequency of detected errors in audit sampling for
agriculture and cohesion 2009-2013
Annex 3 (page 46) - Frequency of detected errors in audit sampling for
agriculture 2009-2013
Annex 4 (page 47) - Frequency of detected errors in audit sampling for
cohesion 2009-2013

Please be advised that the information on "cohesion" in the document above
contains combined results for the three funds concerned, i.e. European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Social Fund (ESF), Cohesion
Fund (CF). The ECA does not have already available nor compiles
information for its audits regarding the ERDF-funded projects only.
Furthermore, the information regarding the ECA's DAS audits of the EU's
cohesion spending for the year 2014, or for 2015, is not yet available.

The ECA also carries out performance audits of specific EU budgetary areas
or management topics, which are published in the ECA's special reports.
Information on the scope of a particular performance audit (for example,
area of EU budget spending audited and Member States in which audits were
carried out) is presented in each special report. The ECA's special
reports are published on its website.

Please advise if the combined information on the number of audits per
Member State, i.e. for the ERDF, ESF and CF together for the period
2009-2013, meets your request.

Kind regards,
