To the attention of Mr Lothar Kuhl, head of unit

Dear Mr Kuhl,

In your note ARESAres(2019)1046546 concerning "GESTDEM 2019/0589 - Request for clarification", you ask what documents exactly am asking for.

It was widely reported in the Hungarian press, and was also subject of written Parliamentary question P-005630-18 (http://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/docu...) that the disbursement of three operational programmes was suspended around mid-October 2018, and a warnings letter was sent to the Hungarian government (or the managing authority). Reference: https://g7.hu/kozelet/20181016/technikai...
It was also reported that if the documents requested are sent to the Commission, several hundreds of million forints could be paid (https://www.portfolio.hu/users/elofizete...).
It was reported later (https://www.portfolio.hu/unios-forrasok/...) that before Christmas (i.e. to be already taken into account in the budget and balance of payment accounts for 2018) a significant amount of Eu funds have in fact been disbursed.
This payment could pnly have occured if on one hand, the Hungarian authorities have sent the documentation required to the Commission and, on the other hand, the Commission has evaluated these documents and found them correct and conforming to the real situation.
Therefore I ask to receive
- the documents sent by the Hungarian authorities andú
- their evaluation by the Commission.
If the Hungarian government does not empower the Commissionto disclose these documents, please still supply the evaluation of the Commission services and an official confirmation that the Hungarian authorities refused the publication of these documents.

Yours faithfully,

Laszlo Szabo
