Dear Ms. O’Brien,

Thank you for your email and interest in the European Food Safety
Authority (EFSA).

EFSA's role is to provide independent scientific advice on matters linked
to food and feed safety. EFSA's risk assessments provide risk managers
(i.e. the European Commission, European Parliament and Member States) with
the sound scientific advice they need to help them take the final
legislative or regulatory decisions required to ensure that European food
is safe for consumers.

Therefore, EFSA is not a regulatory body. To find out more on EU
regulations and audits, you can contact the European Commission and, in
particular, the Directorate-General responsible for Health and Food Safety
([1]DG SANTE) or visit their [2]website.

To find out more on regulatory bodies at country level, you can try to
contact the relevant [3]Member States Authorities (at this link you can
find a list of authorities): for Ireland, you may refer to the the [4]Food
Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) through this [5]webform.

Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact
the [6]Ask EFSA Service through this [7]link.

Kind regards,
