EO Registrry
Dear Mrs Emily O'Reilly,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- Internal rules of functioning of EO Registry
- Oral and written communication between Head of Registry and Fundamental Rights EU Agenciy (phone logs, minutes, Verbal notes)
- Information about the role of EO Head of Registry within investigation launched by Ombudsman (visa on the case file, endorsements, supervision of investigation or other similar situations).
Yours faithfully,
David Nicholson
Dear Mr Nicholson,
Thank you for your message. However, I think there is a misunderstanding,
which is important to address here. In fact, the Head of Registry of the
European Ombudsman (a post I currently happen to occupy) is not involved
in the handling of any of the Ombudsman's inquiries. Therefore, I would
have to forward, here internally, any requests relating to inquiries.
Please let me know how you wish to proceed.
Kind regards,

Dear Euro-Ombudsman, M. Bonor,
in your reply above you state that "In fact, the Head of Registry of the European Ombudsman (a post I currently happen to occupy) is not involved in the handling of any of the Ombudsman's inquiries. Therefore, I would have to forward, here internally, any requests relating to inquiries"
1/ Yes, please forward internally my request and kindly ask your services to provide me with the documents.
2/ you state that the Head of Registry of the European Ombudsman (a post you currently happen to occupy) is not involved in the handling of any of the Ombudsman's inquiries. I would like to access additional information on this statement and also on this letter of Euro Ombudsman http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/1183/... which says that Head of registry has some decisional tasks. I would like to access more details.
3/ New Request - List of cases dismissed by Head of registry as inadmissible (number, subject, year, any other relevant information)
thanks
Yours sincerely,
David Nicholson
Dear Mr Nicholson,
Please find attached the reply from the European Ombudsman to your
correspondence.
The Registry
Dear Euro-Ombudsman,
Many thanks for your answer. I was granted access to 2 documents. In document “HoUREG PB 2012 final” there is no OUT number like in all these documents and many other originating from Ombudsman http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/notif...
I would be obliged if you could confirm if I was granted access to the intended document. The document is not signed and the creation date is 03/04/2014). As suggested, I should contact Registry. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
David Nicholson
Dear Mr Nicholson,
A routine check of our records suggests that we did not reply to your
questions in your e-mail of 4 April 2014. I very much apologise for this
omission.
In reply to your main question, I can confirm that the annexes you
received were the intended ones.
One of the annexes (the decision signed by the former Ombudsman) contains
a reference number, top right, from a previous registration system. The
other annex, the job description for the post currently occupied by
myself, was not separately registered. Not all documents are separately
registered. Many documents simply form part of a file/collection of
documents. We are currently making efforts to ensure that information
about such files/collections is made publicly available on our public
register.
Kind regards,
Peter Bonnor
