Víctor Martínez

Dear Environment,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

I would like to access to a list of all the fines imposed in the EU for environmental crimes/damages. I would like to know, at least, the name of the company or citizen who recibes the sanction, the country where the crime is committed, the amount of the sanction and the crime committed.

If possible, I would like to receive the information in an accesible format, as Excel

Yours faithfully,

Víctor Martínez

Dear Environment,

I've done a FOI request on January 03, 2019 about the sanctions imposed by the EU for environmental crimes or damages. You have not respond to it in the term stablished by the Regulation 1049/2001.

Yours faithfully,
Víctor Martínez

Generaldirektion Umwelt

Dear Mr Martinez,

We were surprised by receiving your mail, because we did not receive any application from you through Ask the EU. After careful search, we discovered today that your request was considered as a SPAM and was sent in a site (bin) for deletion.
At the same time as you, we inform the Secretariat General of the Commission for two reasons: 1) reporting the problem and 2) where necessary, ensuring that IT measures are adopted.

On the substance of your question, DG ENV is not in charge of Directive 2008/99 (environmental crime). This task is managed by DG JUST. About sanctions, it is unclear whether you refer to sanctions imposed by the Court of Justice in the framework of Article 260 TFEU or other specific issue.

We should be grateful if you could send your reply to SG DOSSIER ACCES to ensure proper and quick handling to your application.

Yours sincerely,

ENV ACCESS DOCUMENT TEAM
