Dear Mr Nielsen,

Further to your application submitted under [1]Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 requesting public access, within the context of the
reimbursement of the GEA, to documents containing the number of the
outgoing MEPs with an absentee rate of 50 % or more at the plenary
sessions for the period between September 2023 and 25 April 2024, and the
number of the before mentioned MEPs who have reimbursed 50 % of their GEA,
please be kindly informed that such documents are not held by Parliament
since, the procedure for the reimbursement of the GEA has not yet been
launched for the period concerned by your request.

Even though the number of absences of Members during plenary sessions is
recorded and reported on the 'attendance register' for each session,
available on [2]Parliament's website for the plenary, under the
[3]'minutes' tab (by clicking on a given date, please see as [4]Attendance
list), Parliament draws your attention to the fact that the reimbursement
of 50% of the GEA is required only from those Members of the Parliament
who have not attended at least half of the plenary session days in the
given parliamentary year (from 1 September to 31 August) and whose absence
has not been excused by the President for one of the reasons mentioned in
Article 43(3) [5]IMMS. Therefore, solely unexcused absences are taken into
account for the calculation of the absence rate of 50 %.

On this basis Parliament considers your request handled and the file
closed.

Please do not hesitate to [6]submit a new request should you identify
specific Parliament documents for which you would like to request public
access.

Best regards,
