Inclusion of nuclear into the EU Taxonomy

Paul Schreiber made this Informationsfreiheit request to Generalsekretariat der Europäischen Kommission

Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Die Anfrage war erfolgreich.

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Despite the decision of the Technical Expert Group (TEG) to exclude nuclear from the new EU taxonomy, and under the pressure of pro-nuclear Member States, the Commission has asked its Joint Research Centre to draft a technical report on the ‘do no significant harm’ aspects of nuclear energy.

The Commission indicated that "this report will be reviewed by experts on radiation protection and waste management under Article 31 of the Euratom Treaty, as well as by experts on environmental impacts from an equivalent Commission environmental group or committee". No further information have been provided regarding the composition of these groups and its decision process.

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- Detailed information about the referred-to "Commission environmental group or committee".
- If available, the list of "experts on environmental impacts from an equivalent Commission environmental group or committee" and/or of "experts on radiation protection and waste management under Article 31 of the Euratom Treaty".

Yours faithfully,

Paul Schreiber

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

If the DG ENER ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS TEAM provided some of the information I was looking for, the request for information submitted on July 28th also asked for:
- Detailed information about the referred-to "Commission environmental group or committee" that will review the Joint Research Group's future nuclear report.
- If available, the list of "experts on environmental impacts" from an equivalent this Commission environmental group or committee.

I would like to stress that all time limits have been exceeded.

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Inclusion of nuclear into the EU Taxonomy'.

If the DG ENER ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS TEAM kindly provided some of the information I was looking for, the request for information submitted on July 28th also asked for:
- Detailed information about the referred-to "Commission environmental group or committee" that will review the Joint Research Group's future nuclear report.
- If available, the list of "experts on environmental impacts" from an equivalent this Commission environmental group or committee.

No additional response was provided since DG ENER's response on August 25th, despite two messages on August 25th and September 30th.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/incl...
