Instructions to drone operators
Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,
On 4 August 2019, The Observer published the following information:
“[Frontex] said it was unable to share a copy of the mission instructions given to drone operators that would tell them what to do in the event of encountering a boat in distress, asking the Observer to submit a freedom of information request.”

To this regard, under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, we are requesting any and all documents which contain the following information:
- all instructions, protocols or procedures given to drone operators on how to handle the encounter of a boat in distress.
