Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

1. all correspondence (including email) between 1st December 2019 and 22 October 2021 between Commissioner Breton and/or his cabinet and/or officials from DG GROW on one hand and representatives from the extractive industry (a) or representatives of the member state Portugal (b) on the other, in which the issue of Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEIs) or the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) of Portugal in relation with lithium or other EU Critical Eaw Materials (EU CRM) was addressed.

2. list of meetings between 1st December 2019 and 22 October 2021 between Commissioner Breton and/or his cabinet and/or officials from DG GROW on one hand and representatives from the extractive industry (a) or representatives of the member state Portugal (b) on the other, in which the issue of Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEIs) or the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) of Portugal in relation with lithium or other EU Critical Eaw Materials (EU CRM) was addressed.

3. minutes of the meetings identified above

Should my request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation. Also I expect the partial release of documents, in case of partial exemption according to article 4.6.

Dear Sir,

We refer to your request for access to documents, registered on 25/10/2021
under the above mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 17/11/2021.

An extended time limit is needed as the scope of the application concerns
different Services which must be consulted.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 08/12/2021.
