Generaldirektion Energie

Dear Mr Sabido,

We refer to your Access to documents request of 16 August 2017, registered
as GESTDEM 2017/4722.

In the indicated period from January 2016 till March 2017, concerning the
Krk LNG terminal the Directorate-General for Energy had contacts within
the context of the Projects of Common Interest process (PCI process) and
the Commission Initiative on Central and South-Eastern European Energy
Connectivity (CESEC).

Under the PCI process, the Krk LNG terminal as a PCI project on the 2nd
PCI list (as project 6.5.1 LNG terminal in northern Greece) and as a
candidate project for the 3rd PCI list, is part of the so-called
North-South Gas Interconnections in Central Eastern and South Eastern
Europe (“NSI East Gas”) Priority Corridor and the related Regional Group.
The NSI East Regional Group meetings took place on the following dates: 2
February; 27 May; 22 September; 7 November and 12 December of 2016 and on
16 February of 2017.

The related documents and list of meetings can be found online in the
folder: "13 TEN-E Regional Group Meetings" available at:

[1]https://circabc.europa.eu

Whereas under the CESEC initiative, Krk LNG terminal being a CESEC
Conditional Priority Project, as the "LNG terminal in Croatia",  there
were meetings on 9 September and 28-29 November of 2016. The CESEC
documents and list of meetings can be found online at:

Dear Energy,

Thank you for the initial offering.

Can you please confirm that this means you've not met, spoken to or corresponded with anyone (another EU institution, a third party e.g. the project promoter or a national government) about the Krk LNG terminal outside of these meetings?

In my request, I explicitly ask for a list of meetings, minutes, and all correspondence "between DG Energy and other European Union bodies and/or third parties on the Krk LNG terminal and evacuation pipeplines between January 2016 and 30 March 2017".

If this is the case, then I can close the file, but if it is not the case, please send through any other meetings, minutes and/or correspondence relating to the Krk LNG Terminal and evacuation pipelines.

Yours faithfully,

Pascoe Sabido

Generaldirektion Energie

Dear Mr Sabido,

We can confirm that beyond the PCI and CESEC processes no meetings have
been organized in DG ENERGY or at the level of the cabinets of the
Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy and of the Vice-President
Šefčovič specifically dedicated to the Krk LNG terminal.

Best regards,
ENER B1 PROJECTS

Dear Energy,

I'm confused at why you have narrowed my request to meetings "organized in DG ENERGY or at the level of the cabinets of the Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy and of the Vice-President Šefčovič specifically dedicated to the Krk LNG terminal".

Firstly, the request covers all meetings that covered the Krk LNG terminal and evacuation pipeplines, not just those specifically dedicated to them. This includes within DG Energy, with other departments and with external parties such as project promoters, ENTSO-G or the gas lobby.

Secondly, my original request went far further than just meetings. It also includes all correspondence (written, email) which refers to the Krk LNG terminal and evacuation pipeplines.

Please ensure you provide all the relevant documents, as originally requested.

Yours faithfully,

Pascoe Sabido
