Member States' Commitments to Target 1 (ROD obligation 815) & Target 4 (ROD obligation 816)
Dear European Environment Agency,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Member states' submitted commitments to Target 1 (ROD obligation 815) and Target 4 (ROD obligation 816) under the EU Biodiversity Strategy.
I would like to make clear I prefer you to produce the documents on a rolling basis. To the extent possible, I prefer the documents in electronic format. Documents that cannot be sent in electronic format should be sent to Rundbäcksgatan 11, Lgh 1502, SE-417 24, Göteborg, Sweden.
Should my request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation. Also I expect the partial release of documents, in case of partial exemption according to article 4.6. I reserve the right to appeal.
Please confirm having received this application. I look forward to your reply within 15 business days, according to the regulation.
Best regards,
Peter Seenan

Dear Sir,
The commitments of Member States under Target 1 of the EU Biodiversity
Strategy (known as pledges) are publicly available at the following links:
• [1]Biodiversity pledges - conservation status improvements
• [2]Biodiversity pledges - protected areas
To this date, only few Member States have submitted their pledges:
• conservation status improvements: Luxembourg, Cyprus and Denmark
• protected areas: Luxembourg, Germany and Denmark
We also inform you that later this year (quarter three, most likely), the
EEA will develop dashboards to compile and display the pledges from Member
States in a more user-friendly way.
Please be informed that in accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation
1049/2001, you may, within 15 working days from receipt of this
communication, make a confirmatory application asking the EEA to
reconsider its position with regard to access to the requested documents.
