Service d'information du citoyen, Europäisches Parlament

A(2015)04438

LF/rf

Dear Mr Németh,

The Citizens’ Enquiries Unit of the European Parliament (EP) has been
asked to reply to your request for information concerning the official
trips undertaken by Mr Béla Kovács in the performance of his duties as MEP
from 2010 to 2015.

Firstly, please note that there is no specific document gathering the
information in aggregate form as you request.

With regard to official trips by MEPs in the performance of their duties,
we would inform you that there are different types of journeys. As the
European Parliament’s plenary sessions, political group and committee
meetings take place in two different European cities (Strasbourg and
Brussels) there are journeys to and from Parliament's places of work or
the venues for meetings of one of its official bodies.

Members are also required to travel in the performance of their official
duties and for other purposes, for example, to attend a conference, to
take part in a working visit, to participate in a meeting of a delegation
or in order to represent the EP.

Finally, there are also trips organised and financed by third parties,
which MEPs are supposed to declare on their profile website. The rules
concerning Members' declarations of attendance at events organised by
third parties were introduced by a Parliament Bureau decision in April
2013 and no declarations exist before this date.

Concerning the specific activities of Bela Kovács, during his mandate as
MEP since 2010 he has been Member of different official bodies. Please
consult the [1]'History of parliamentary service' and [2]'Parliamentary
activities' tabs on the dedicated webpage of the EP website for further
information.

In his capacity as a Member, he may have participated in official trips as
a part of the work programme of these bodies. The relevant information on
such activities is published on the specific websites: [3]Committee on
Industry, Research and Energy, [4]Delegation for relations with the Arab
Peninsula[5], Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly
[6](details of Euronest plenary sessions),  [7]Delegation for relations
with Japan and [8]Delegation to the EU-Kazakhstan, EU-Kyrgyzstan and
EU-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with
Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia

For further details please contact the office of Mr Kovacs directly by
mail at [9][email address] or consult his [10]official
website.

We hope this is of interest and thank you for contacting the European
Parliament.

Yours sincerely,

Citizens' Enquiries Unit
