Dear EULISA PAD,

thanks for your prompt response to my request. I accept that my initial request is broad and I would like to narrow it in the interest of practicality. Please provide the following information on the more general operational parameters of SIS:

- The current interface control documents (ICD) for SISII, where 'Interface Control Document’ is defined for example in the “Report on the technical functioning of central SIS II 2017-2018"
- User Requirements Document (URD), also mentioned in the same report p.9

Regarding the requests for email and postal communications, I would like maintain the following aspects of the request:

- Any postal or email communications between LISA and the UK government or any UK-based companies related to the SIS and the exit of the UK from the European Union;
- Any communication between LISA and the DG HOME regarding the same topic.

Yours sincerely,

Friedrich Lindenberg

EULISA PAD, European Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice

Dear Mr Lindenberg,

Thank you for your message of 16 March 2020.

Following your clarification, the Agency has decided to divide your request into two (2) parts, namely:

• Part 1: “the current interface control documents (ICD) for SISII, where 'Interface Control Document’ is defined for example in the “Report on the technical functioning of central SIS II 2017-2018", and the “User Requirements Document (URD), also mentioned in the same report p.9” (hereinafter referred to as “general operational parameters of SIS”);

• Part 2: “any postal or email communications between LISA and the UK government or any UK-based companies related to the SIS and the exit of the UK from the European Union, and any communication between LISA and the DG HOME regarding the same topic” (hereinafter referred to as “communications”).

The Agency is currently processing the part 1 of your request related to the general operational parameters of SIS.

However, regarding the part 2 of your request related to communications, eu-LISA still considers that your request is very generic and the Agency is still unable to identify the documents requested.

In order to process the part 2 of your request and in accordance with Article 6(2) of the Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, we invite you to further clarify and to provide us with more detailed information on the documents which you would like to have access to.

Please note that, as set out in the Article 4(2) of the Decision No 2012-026 of the Management Board of eu-LISA, the deadline for replying to part 2 of your request will run only from the time we have received your reply.

You should send your reply to the Agency by 30 March 2020.

If you do not contact the Agency within this timeframe, the part 2 of your request will not be further processed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,
