Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

a) Correspondence regarding the first request of financial help by the Portuguese government.

b) Documents and correspondence (including e-mails) between European institutions and the Portuguese government related to the memorandum of understanding and it's later negotiations.

c) Documents and correspondence regarding communication between the IMF, European Commission and the European Central Bank.

by  the Portuguese government; 2) documents and correspondence (including
e-mails) between  European institutions and the Portuguese government

Please be assured that the ECB is currently assessing your request.

On this occasion, we would like to clarify that access to ECB documents is governed by Decision ECB/2004/3 according to which a reply to your application is due within 20 working days. However, as your request is very wide in scope, covers a long period of time and requires the consultation of other parties, we have to invoke Article 7.3 of Decision ECB/2004/3 and extend the time limit provided to reply by an additional 20 working days.
