Programme of Options Specifically Relating to Remoteness and Insularity (POSEI).
Dear Committee of the Regions,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
I have a question about the Programme of Options Specifically Relating to Remoteness and Insularity (POSEI).
The REGULATION (EU) No 228/2013 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL says that "In order to achieve in an effective manner the goal of lowering prices in the outermost regions, mitigating the additional costs of their extreme remoteness, aid should be granted for the supply of Union products to the outermost regions.".
My question is if a company from one of those "outermost regions" buys a product that was produced in a third country (example :Brazilian Beef) from a company in the EU (example: Netherlands), can the company from the "outermost region" receive the POSEI aid? Considering that the product was produced outside the EU, imported to the EU, and the re-sold to the "outermost region" company.
Thank you for your attention,
Yours faithfully,
Artur Nobrega
