Dear Mr Pavlou,

Thank you for your email of 25 January 2012 and your interest in public
consultations undertaken by the European Commission in September 2011.

This reply is refering to the public consultation that had been launched
in view of the preparation of a Communication on the Sustainable
Competitiveness of the construction sector and its enterprises.

Despite the published instruction on how to provide the relevant data of
the contributors, we have only received the contact details (names of
organisation, branch etc.) of some of the contributors.

Unfortunaltey many contributions have been provided anonymously and
therefore I can only give you a general reply.

The European Commission will most likely publish together with the future
Communication an evaluation report of the public consultation. The
adoption of the Communication is foreseen in April 2012.

The full contributions can only be published with the permission of the
stakeholders concerned.

The minimum timespan for replies to a public consultation is 40 working
days. As we launched the consultation just before the summer holiday
period, the delay was extended to 55 working days. The consultation was
open from 6 July 2011 to 15 September 2011.

We received 47 contributions - not counting double transmissions.

Please do not hesitate to contact me, in case you are looking for
additional information on this consultation.
