Relationship between China Mission to the EU and European Schools
Dear Education and Culture,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, specifically Article 2, paragraph 3, which states that the regulation "shall apply to all documents held by an institution, that is to say, documents drawn up or received by it and in its possession, in all areas of activity of the European Union", I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
All information, documents, letters, emails, meeting notes and minutes relating to the establishment of a Chinese language and cultural program in the European School system since 2016, including a list of the dates of all meetings between the Chinese Mission to the EU and the Office of the Secretary General of the European Schools.
All information, documents, letters, emails, meeting notes and minutes exchanged between the Chinese Mission to the EU and the Office of the European Schools since 2016, specifically the Secretary General Giancarlo Marcheggiano and the Head of Unit for Pedagogical Development Laszlo Munkascy, and the offices of the Director of the Brussels IV European School and of the Director of the Brussels II European School.
All information, documents, receipts, travel itineraries of journeys made to China since 2016 by Secretary General Giancarlo Marcheggiano and the Head of Unit for Pedagogical Development Laszlo Munkascy, as well as European School Directors, specifically Manuel Bordoy, Isabelle Verwilghen and Simon Sharron.
The exceptions laid out in Article 4 clearly do not apply to this request since the request relates to an initiative at the level of the European Schools.
Yours faithfully,
Harry Cooper
