Rental contract
Dear European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
The rental contract(s) of the building(s) the agency occupies
Yours faithfully,
Peter Teffer

PS: I have noticed that European institutions sometimes send both a digital and a paper version by registered mail of FOI responses. Please only send paper versions of your communication if you do not intend to send a digital copy. The physical mail always reaches me later than e-mail, so paper versions are environmentally wasteful and somewhat inefficient.
Dear Peter,
Thank you for your email. We hereby acknowledge receipt of your application for access to documents.
If you wish to contact us on it, please use the reference ATD 02/2017.
Yours faithfully,

On behalf of Catherine Coucke, Coordinator for Public Access to Documents
Dear Mr Teffer,
The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) has
examined your application on the basis of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 of
the European Parliament and the Council regarding public access to the
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents and of the specific
provisions concerning public access to documents set out in Decision
(EIOPA-MB-11/051) of the Management Board of EIOPA.
We are pleased to meet your request by referring you to the Draft general
budget of the European Commission for the financial year 2017:

This material contains essential information of the name, location and
type of the building EIOPA occupies, and of the annual rent, including
further specificities of the rental contract.
If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours faithfully,
Catherine Coucke
Coordinator for Public Access to Documents
Dear Madam, Sir,
Many thanks for your reply and your referral to the Draft general budget of the European Commission for the financial year 2017.
However, that document does not contain a specific element of information I am interested in: the clause in the rental contract(s) that governs termination of the contract(s).
Can you please send the contract(s) or at least the page(s) of the contract that deals with how and when the contract(s) can be terminated?
All the best,
Peter Teffer
Dear Mr. Teffer,
EIOPA is pleased to meet your additional request seeking specific information about the termination clauses of EIOPA’s lease contract, and following up on your initial application of 8 May 2017.
Herewith, we are sending those clauses as an expert from the lease contract – in German (the original language of the contract) – along with a courtesy translation into English.
If you have further questions, please let us know.
With kind regards,
Access to Documents Team
